What made today special:
I had the day off work.
I attempted to set up my home office desk, but got distracted by football and SongPop.
I am REALLY good at SongPop. It is "Name That Tune" and I do really well since I have a passion for music. There are hundreds of playlists from all genres and I do pretty well in most of them. The 80's I have on lock. Country is weaker, and I suck at the Blues, but overall I am a fearsome player.
So that is something.
In 2015 I will turn 45. That makes me want to reflect on what the hell I have been been doing for the last 45 years and how it has come to be that I am a stockroom boy.
I need to set some achievable goals for 2015.
I will continue to do more theater reviews for BoomMagSTL.com. Even thought I don't know everything there is to know in the world of theater I feel I am making strides in my reviews and I am allowing more of my own voice to come out in my reviews.
I will get my podcast started. I feel I have a unique view on how to conduct an interview and I think I am really good at getting to know people. I am in talks with a local AM radio station here in St. Louis, but I am not sure when that will happen.
Fuck the losing weight thing. I have given up on that. I am just fat.
I thought about being more positive, but then I was like fuck that. It is what it is and I refuse to put on rose colored glasses to people's assholery.
I have to do something with music. It is in my blood. I loved writing my music reviews, but then it just became another free job and that bummed me out. But maybe I will do something on this blog.
Random thoughts from today:
*The guy who hosts Color Splash is too gay.
*Fuck the Seattle Seahawks. The NFL is rigged and they can all line up to blow me.
*I think Breakfast at Tiffany's is over rated.
Well kids, that's all today. More tomorrow.
Jim

Sick Jim / Funny Bits / STLgeddon
I am sickly.
I have had a head cold and a sore throat for about a week now. I have sucked on more throat lozenges than, well, than someone who sucks on things alot.
A sick Jim is a baby Jim and I am not happy. I do have a doctor's appointment next Monday so hopefully my awesome doctor will be able to wave his magical hands over my throat and all will be fine.
He really is an amazing doctor.
I had not one but TWO funny moments this weekend.
At a party, this took place between two of my friends:
Friend 1: Do you know why I hate Starbucks?
Friend 2: Because you can't see over the counters?
Cut to me and a massive spit-take. THAT was fucking hilarious.
Then I watched Doug Benson's comedy special on Netflix called Doug Dynasty in which he dropped this gem: "Its a good thing that emotional scars are invisible. Otherwise porn would be horrible to watch."
THAT is one of the funniest things I have EVER heard.
Things are going well at the home decor store. I love working in the stock room. The staff is amazing and I go home happy every night.
Well kids, I hate to cut this one short, but as I mentioned before I am sick and bitchy and I need to lay down. Just wanted to check in.
Pray for STL tomorrow people. I think the Grand Jury is going to announce their decision tomorrow and all hell MAY break loose.
Much love,
Jim

I'm a bitch
I can be brash.
Today I went to our warehouse to get a box of something. I noticed a red car parked in my spot and it was parked at an odd angle which is just fucked up.
As I was unlocking the door, this elderly lady came out of the suite next to us and started talking to me.
Please keep in mind that I don't like people and when strangers talk to me - I bristle.
She told me she was from the local church and they were going to deliver cookies to all of the local warehouses on the 17th and she wanted to know if I was going to be there to receive my cookies.
With a stopped up nose, I snapped back at her that I live a privileged life and I don't need her cookies. I told her to give them to the homeless or the poor. They would appreciate them more.
She gruffed at me and jumped in the red car and sped off.
Perhaps I should have been nicer to her, but for real, the last thing I need is cookies.
But damn, now I kind of want some cookies. Karma is a bitch.

Hello - I'm Jim
Hi.
I'm Jim. I am usually in a good mood, but sometimes I get a stick up my ass and I want to complain/bitch about something.
I also really love music and I love reviewing albums. So I might do that here as well.
I am married to my husband, Nate, and we live in St. Louis with our two dogs, Parker and Sherlock.
I work part time at a home decor store and I am think about things alot.
I would be a philosopher if I could get paid for it. I mean, I think ALOT. I wonder about things and I will use this portal to put those thoughts into words.
I also write theater reviews for a website based out of St. Louis called #BOOM. The web address is BoomMagSTL.com
Well that is all that I feel like sharing today. Hopefully I will post every day.
Jim
PS. For real. Mitch McConnell can suck my balls.
